We will make you laugh, sing and maybe even shriek a little during our latest season of events here at ArtERY Live. Read on – if you dare….
Dark and mysterious theatre, side-splitting comedy and gigantic dinosaurs are just some of the spectacular events coming to East Yorkshire this season as part of ArtERY Live’s latest programme of events.
The fun kicks off at Driffield School, on Thursday, Feb 9, with A View from the Edge – a noir- style mystery from Owdyado Theatre company. The production, which has already received a number of rave reviews, promises to deliver a dark, intriguing tale which will keep audiences guessing right until the end! A View from the Edge will also show at Lund Village Hall (Frid, Feb 10, 7.30pm) and Bishop Burton Village Hall (Sun, Feb 12, 8pm).
This will be followed by uproarious comedy from Spitz and Co who will be appearing at Swanland Village Hall , (March 4, 7.30pm) with their production Gloriator. A spoof of the Hollywood blockbuster Gladiator, this show won the critics’ choice award at Exeter Ignite for its ‘imaginative and hilarious delivery’. DO NOT MISS IT!
Up next is a production which comes all the way from Canada. Les Bordéliques presents Blind Date, in a one-off show in Beverley. The show is presented by former Cirque du Soleil performers, who take turns to impersonate six archetypal characters, who meet for the first time on a blind date. What could possibly go wrong? Blind Date will be shown at The Masonic Hall, Beverley, on Saturday March 18, at 7pm.
World renowned guitarist Eduardo Niebla will show off his skills in Swanland during a live performance on Sat, April 1. Niebla and his duet have collaborated with a number of great artists including the late George Michael. This performance will include stunning flamenco jazz taken from the duo’s latest album.
Young children will be thrilled to encounter Aaaaaaaaaaaagh! Dinosaurs stomping through Withernsea and Etton, April 7-April 9. This award-winning show, courtesy of Dommy B is suitable for ages 5-10. Tickets will sell fast so hurry!
And last, but by no means least, another Canadian treat. The Fitzgeralds are a family of musicians/dancers. In Everything Fitz they will raise the roof with astoundingly fast fiddle playing and mind-blowing step dancing. Be prepared to tap you toes! They will perform in Beverley only on Sat June 3.
Ticket prices vary from venue to venue but cost @ £6 upwards with some concessions available.
