Townsend Productions: We are the Lions Mr Manager!

You have just GOT to come along and see this production. It will leave you all fired up and ready to change the world!

We are The Lions Mr Manager, tells the inspiring tale of one of the most powerful women in British history – Jayaben Desai – a leader of one of the most influential strikes in women’s history.

The play tells the story of Jayaben’s fight for dignity in the workplace, during the Grunwick Film Processing Factory Strike of 1976-78. Jayaben was one of many newly arrived Gururati workers from East Africa. She took on unfair bosses in a backstreet London factory in what was to become one of the longest and most important industrial disputes in British history.

Led by Asian women, the Grunwick strike challenged stereotypes, changed the face of white, male trade unions and inspired others to speak out against injustice. This production has already received rave reviews and is bound to be popular, so book well in advance.

It will be shown at the following time and venue;
