Acoustic Roots duo, Mambo Jambo, might just be the biggest acoustic duo you’ll ever see. A truly unique two-piece with their joyous mash-up of sounds from roots, folk, world, jazz, plus their own compositions. With Frankie on sax, vocals, clarinet, flute, guitar and spoons and other percussion, and Pete on guitar, vocal, ukulele, tres, banjo, accordion and suitcase!

The sheer enthusiasm & joy of their music combine to create an act that will undoubtedly go down a storm wherever they play.

Balbir Singh Dance Company ‘Dewey’

Goole Library, East Riding of Yorkshire

Balbir Singh Dance Company is an organisation under the Artistic Direction of Balbir Singh. Dewey is a new production created for performing in libraries, about libraries, with libraries, collaborating and adapting to different library settings. It takes as its starting point the universal Dewey Decimal Classification system. Through dance, music and storytelling it brings to life how some of the Balbir Singh Dance Company repertoire can fit into various strands using the starting point of Classical Indian dance style Kathak as a form of visual literacy and storytelling. Madeleine has never been the main character in her own story – until the final chapter…

It’s inexperienced Alex’s first day on the job. But before he can even get to grips with the tea urn and stationery cupboard, he is given his first task – which proves to be absolute murder…

Meanwhile a man known only as The Ghost is determined to execute the perfect festive killing and bag another MUD (Most Unique Death award) at the office Christmas party. But it seems that a combination of fate, Nigel Havers, a medium called Brenda, and a packet of Jammy Dodgers may disrupt his sinister plan…

As secrets are revealed, alliances are tested and backs are stabbed, will The Ghost succeed in fulfilling his deadly brief? Can Alex avoid the wrath of Lindsey from HR? And will Madeleine manage to change the narrative and escape with her life?

Elsa Jean McTaggart returns with Hebridean Fire. These multi-instrumentalists from the Isle of Lewis take you on an eclectic musical journey through the Islands and Highlands of Scotland past and present. From soulful laments to high energy, beautifully arranged sets of jigs, reels, and traditional (also Gaelic) and original songs with plenty of laughter, joy and warmth. Elsa’s younger sister Irenie has a voice you will never forget for its purity and ethereal quality and Mr Lister is the foundational glue that holds everything together.

George Egg

George cooks food without a kitchen. During an evening of live cooking with jokes, anecdotes and general bonhomie he prepares three dishes of real and delicious food using a variety of non-culinary appliances from hotel room equipment, power tools, and other unexpected items. At the end of the show, if they want to, the audience get to taste the food too. A true multisensory comical experience with a bit of education and a heap of inspiration thrown in too.

Coalesce Dance

Pants! is a fun and sensitive exploration of self-love, acceptance and mental health. This work, created for young people 16-21, is a coming of age story where we discover who we are, and who we want to be. Join us in our weird and wonderful wardrobe world, as we search through this closet of cluttered memories. With research gathered from young people in Burnley, Trafford, Blackpool and Blackburn, Coalesce have embedded these stories and experiences into this new and exciting work for Library and Community Spaces.

Indigo Moon

Indigo Moon Theatre presents “Seedheart”. Meet Grey. Our journey begins as Grey finds themself trapped inside a jar. They try to remember how they got there and how they could be free. This show tells the important tale of what happened to the Earth when humans came along and how we can restore our once green planet, with interactive laboratory chaos along the way! Watch as our story unfolds (literally) from a single suitcase and follow Grey’s journey to a better future with magical pop-ups, puppetry and shadows.

James & Mayor

James and Mayor are a witty and captivating mix of folk, blues, swing and classical showstoppers, spiced with a unique brand of off-beat humour. Virtuoso mandolin, elegant vocals, guitar and fiddle wizardry, and a stage show that ranges from witty to hilarious. Expect anything from a Vivaldi concerto, traditional folk, jazz standards, Celtic, ragtime, blues, a deadly accurate tribute to Jake Thackray and, of course, that song about a parrot! Sheer Musical Brilliance.

Graffiti Classics

Graffiti Classics are 16 strings, 8 dancing feet and 4 voices with 1 aim: to make classical music wickedly funny and fantastically exhilarating for everyone, young and old. Graffiti Classics burst the elitist boundaries of the traditional string quartet with their hilarious all-singing, all-dancing musical comedy show.It’s a classical concert, a gypsy-folk romp, an opera, a stand-up comedy set and a brilliant dance show all rolled into one! From Beethoven to Bluegrass, Baroque to Pop, Mozart or Offenbach to Elvis, Strauss to Saturday Night Fever

A story about the son of the god of the sun, HELIOS transplants the Ancient Greek tale into a modern-day myth wound round the winding roads of rural England and into the everyday living of a towering city. A story about life, and about the invisible monuments we build to it. An intimate tale made to be told in smaller rooms, HELIOS is a collective experience which invites the audience to be part of the story. Told by a single storyteller, with a cinematic score, it’s a story about growing up, about the pride of young boys, and how we define our worlds.

Will Finn and Rosie Calvert are an award-winning husband-and-wife duo who came together through their love of music. First coming to prominence with their acapella quartet The Teacups, the pair perform traditional and contemporary folk music with variety and flair! Their set includes intricate harmonies, the rousing instrumentation of piano, steel pan, and ukulele, and joyful, warm stage presence.
